Electric bass course
The foundation of the band: bass lines, groove, technique and the role of the rhythm section.
The course
The bass holds harmony and rhythm together. The course works on technique, sound, groove and the bassist's role in a band, with practical exercises and a repertoire from the great classics to contemporary pop.
Who it is for
For guitarists who want to switch to bass, complete beginners and bassists who want to study in a structured way.
What you will learn
- Fingerstyle, pick and slap technique
- Bass lines, walking bass and groove
- Applied harmony: chords, scales, modes
- Playing with the drums: time and feel
- Pop, rock, funk and soul repertoire
How it works
One-to-one lessons of 45 or 60 minutes, once a week. The programme is personalised: each lesson alternates technique, applied theory and repertoire chosen together. During the year students can take part in ensemble workshops, the end-of-year recital and sessions in the school's recording studio.
